The urinary system is made up of:

Two kidneys which remove the waste and excess substances from the blood |

Two ureters which transport urine from the kidneys to |

The urinary bladder which acts as a reservoir of urine. |
4. |
A urethra which is the duct through which urine flows from the bladder to the outside. |
Each kidney contains around a million nephrons, the functional units of the urinary system. The kidneys clear around 1700L of blood every day.
